Irving Victor Marken Abb

Irving Victor Marken Abb, 86, of Woodbine, died Friday, July 13, 2012, at home.
He was born Jan. 6, 1926, at Inglenook, the summer home of his grandparents, the Markens' at Braddock Heights in Frederick County.
His childhood was spent in Frederick. After graduating from St. Johns College and graduate school, he practiced law in Montgomery and Frederick counties for the next 55 years.
His passion for foxhunting inspired him to have his own pack of hounds at Big Meadow Farm in Howard County in the 1970s. He was district commissioner of the Howard County Pony Club and was a member of the American Carriage Association. He enjoyed hunting waterfowl on the Eastern Shore, thoroughbred horse racing, hill topping, storytelling and the study of the Civil War.
Surviving are a former wife, Chi Chi Brown; daughters Victoria Abb and Mara Cary Abb; sons Christopher and Marken Abb; grandchildren Nicholas Mellin, Lindsey Mathis, and Shelby and Emma Abb; and a great-grandchild, Reilly Mellin.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market St., Frederick. Those who are planning on attending should assemble at the historic Francis Scott Key Chapel by 10:45 a.m.
