Collaborative Law Section
Those who missed the June meeting should not despair. On Wednesday, September 16, Steve Weisbaum, one of our Section’s torch bearers, will lead a review of Maryland Uniform Collaborative Law Act, its accompanying Rules and their interplay with Limited Scope Representation. This presentation will benefit every member of Bar Association of Montgomery County, Maryland, who practices Civil Law (i.e. Domestic Relations and/or areas of law other than Domestic Relations).
Our Fall CLE titled, “Collaborative Law: A Viable Dispute Resolution Option for Civil Disputes”, will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15th and will feature two well-known and highly respected speakers in the Civil Collaborative Community: Michael Zeytoonian, whose Civil Collaborative Law practice is based in Massachusetts and focuses on Employment, Business and Probate Law; and March Sheridan, whose Civil Collaborative Law practice is based in New York and focuses on Employment Law.

This portends a productive year for those who practice Civil Collaborative Law (i.e. practice areas other than Domestic Relations and Domestic Relations). Now is the time to get in on this relatively new, but quickly growing practice area. Members of Family Law, ADR, Juvenile, Business Law, Commercial Litigation, Employment Law, Estate & Trust, Education Law, Elder Law, & New Practitioners will find the program particularly useful.
We look forward to seeing some new and some not so new faces at the September 16, 2015 meeting.
